At TaylorMade’s Education and Fitting Centre in Basingstoke, every fitting, retailer education day and workshop is built around a single principle: better decisions start with better data. The facility serves as TaylorMade’s hub for fitting and education in the UK, welcoming Tour professionals, retail partners, PGA coaches and golfers looking to better understand equipment performance. It is a place where product knowledge, player insights and fitting expertise come together under one roof.

Every fitting conducted within the facility is powered by QuadMAX, providing the detailed ball and club performance data required to make confident equipment recommendations. For TaylorMade, however, the value of the technology extends well beyond measuring launch conditions or validating performance. It has become fundamental to the way the company approaches fitting itself.

Over recent years, TaylorMade has captured and analysed more than 11 million shots in pursuit of a deeper understanding of how golfers deliver the club through impact. That research led to the development of a shaft fitting philosophy centred around Closure Rate, a measurement unique to Foresight Sports technology that quantifies how quickly the clubface rotates through impact. By understanding how a player naturally delivers the club, fitters can identify patterns that influence consistency, start direction and shot shape, helping golfers find equipment that complements their swing rather than forcing compensation.

The partnership between TaylorMade and Foresight Sports extends beyond fitting methodology alone. Working closely together, the two companies developed fitting-specific driver heads featuring six integrated fiducial markers built directly into the clubface. While traditional clubhead measurement typically relies on four tracking points, the six-point design provides an even greater level of precision, allowing QuadMAX to capture club delivery, face orientation and impact dynamics with exceptional accuracy.

Exclusive to TaylorMade fitting environments, the six-fiducial design represents a unique collaboration between manufacturer and launch monitor provider, where the equipment itself has been engineered to unlock deeper fitting insights. It is a powerful example of two industry leaders working together to advance what is possible in modern club fitting.

The Basingstoke facility regularly hosts retailer training events, product workshops and educational sessions where participants gain hands-on experience with the same technology used throughout the fitting process.
